opening day
It has warmed up around these parts. Today was my first crossfit workout in the summer sun. I had a good day! I am on a bit of a roll (pessimist in me points out that this means I am due for a setback…)
Crossfit:
800m run/15 wall balls/15 med ball cleans
4 rounds amrap:
1 min wall balls/10 sec rest (i.e. basically no rest)
1 min power cleans/2 min rest
I think my wall balls were 25/21/19/20/21 or something similar. My cleans were (30k) all around 10.
Fortunately they didn’t decide to do one of those follow up workouts that they like to do sometimes, so I got to walk out of the gym feeling more victorious than flattened.
I also did some highly necessary yoga yesterday. I’ve been having trouble with low back and knee pain, and have figured out that this is all related to tight hip flexors and possible lack of glute activation. So, I realize that the yoga is simply mandatory to keep up my hip flexibility. When I don’t do it, I just end up with pain. Still, it can be hard to drag myself over there. I was wrecked in the morning and so skipped the morning class in favor of an evening class. Really, I should try to figure out how to go to yoga twice a week instead of just once. So many should’s.
